
Md. Ruhul Amin joined in Bangladesh Water Development Board as Director General on July 05, 2026. Prior to this position, he worked as Addl. Director General (Planning, Design and Research ). Md. Ruhul Amin received B.Sc Engineering (Civil) degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1991. He later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Dhaka in 2012.
Md. Ruhul Amin started his career in Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) as Assistant Engineer (Civil) in 1993. He worked in BWDB as Assistant Engineer, Sub-Divisional Engineer, Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Additional Chief Engineer, Project Director Chief Engineer and Additional Director General (ADG) in different offices in Headquarters, Dhaka and field offices.
During his more than 32 years of service in Bangladesh Water Development Board, he participated in international seminars and professional training programs in Japan, Vietnam, Austria and other countries. He has effectively applied the knowledge and experience gained from these programs to enhance the Board's activities and performance. Engineer Md. Ruhul Amin was born in 1968 in a respected Muslim family in Rajshahi District. He is a Member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
