The Bangladesh Water Development Board is working to establish good governance, transparency and social equality in the framework of the "New Bangladesh" of the present government through the implementation of various activities related to information and communication technology. Currently Personnel Management Information System (PMIS). Online Recruitment Management System (ORMS), Online Payment Gateway and SMS Gateway Service System, Geographic Information System (GIS) Based Digital Land Information System, Biometric Online Attendance System, Online Hydrological Data Sale System, APR Monitoring System, Online Training Management System, Online GAD System, Electronic Government Procurement (eGP), Auto Real Time Data Acquisition System (ARTDAS), MODFLOW-Hydro Geo Analyst System, RIVER Morphology System, GIS based MIS of Completed Project (SIMS), Smart Project Monitoring and Management Information System (SPMMIS), IP Camera based Monitoring System, Development and Piloting of WMO-Registration & Irrigation Management system, Implementation of Intercom and IP Phone via soft-switch has been implemented and Online Disaster Damage Reporting System, Legal Affairs Information Management System, Deposit Work Management System , Lease Management System and One Stop Services activities are phased out There is. With the enrichment of the information technology sector, the activities of the Board have become more dynamic and many benefits are being reaped. In order to make the IT sector and manpower of the Bangladesh Water Development Board more efficient, dynamic and enriching, many more activities have been launched and planned through various projects, which will bring planned and expected benefits in the future.
In addition, information and communication technology has been used for a long time in various internal activities of the organization such as administration, human resource information management, information exchange, research, planning, publishing various information and tenders through website etc. Arrangements have been made to publish flood forecast and warning messages online in Bengali and English in a way that the public can understand. At present, people in any part of Bangladesh can dial 1090 from their mobile and listen to the daily forecast of cyclones, floods, tidal surges etc. As a result, people of all walks of life, including farmers, are getting the opportunity to prepare for the floods and their lives and property are being protected from loss. In the future design, planning, data processing, online project monitoring, disaster reporting, online reporting, etc., the use of information technology to provide services to the board and the country is in the process of rapid.
